Advertising to Ezines Ezines are electronic magazines, hence the name "e-zine". : You probably know them as newsletters, as that is their common name. Many ezine authors will allow you to place your ad in their newsletter for a fee. If you want to reach an audience which is highly targeted and cost effective then advertising in ezines is the way to go. You can never be accused of spamming as all the recipients have subscribed to the ezine. The main advantages of advertising in Ezines are:Highly targeted audience: There are so many Ezines out there covering so many different topics that it's easy to find HIGHLY TARGETED ones to advertise in. Not only can you reach your target audience, you reach them by the thousands. And you should know that the more you target the better response you get, that's why Ezine ads will nearly always bring good results. You could receive tens and maybe hundreds of enquires about your offer. Some ezines have just a few hundred subscribers and some of them have tens or hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Now the big key to understand is that these are targeted groups of people. Some categories you can target
are “home based business”, “mlm”,
“direct sales”, “network marketing”,
stay at home moms”, “internet marketing”,
“cooking”, “investing”, “business
opportunity seekers”, “personal
development”, “metaphysics”, “personal
growth”, “self-improvement”, and just
about any other type of category you can think
of. And
in case you don’t already know, targeted
marketing is going to out-pull general
advertising by 1,000%+. If you can target a
specific group of people with your offer and get
it in front of them, you’re gonna get better
results hands down. Placing
an ezine ad is no different than sending an
email to a friend because that’s essentially
what you’re doing when you place ezine ads.
You pay for the ad, paste in your ad copy, and
the ezine owner takes care of everything else. Free Exposure: Almost all Ezines are archived, thousands of people read these archives, your ad will be seen by these people at no extra cost. Which can bring in exposure and extra sales on a long term basis. Users trust the Ezine publishers Ezine publishers: have developed a trust between themselves and their readers. Just by placing your ad in an ezine, it's more likely to be read because it appears in a publication they like and trust. It works even better when the publisher/editor adds a personal endorsement! All this equals more sales for you. Competition less fierce: Ezines offer a "level playing field" for advertisers. In ezines, every advertiser works within the same set of rules, so the odds of your success are much greater. The best ad writers make the most money in the ezines, regardless of ad production costs. Most quality Ezines have 5 or so ads at the most, whereas offline publications could have up to a hundred, and even then, the advertiser with the biggest budget and therefore biggest ad always wins. Very cost effective: Ezine advertising is not only effective, it's cheap as well. A 5 line ad in an ezine that goes to 3000 people will cost you between $5 and $25 per issue. Very little risk is involved as you should always break even, but most times you will make lots of profit. Ezine
advertising is one of the most effective forms
of advertising that exists on the Web. It’s
been around for a long time, but not too many
people have really taken advantage of it in a
big way. If you haven’t advertised in ezines before, I recommend that you start off with the lower cost ones and then roll a percentage of the profits you receive into the more pricy ones. Ezine Ad Types: The
next thing to consider is what type
of ad you should place. There
are four main types of ads you can place:
From
my experience, Bottom and Classified ads are a waste of money. They
very rarely ever get read by everyone and they’ll usually produce a
terrible response rate. They group these together with a bunch of other little ads and most people (including myself) just skip right through them. So that’s why you want to avoid these types of ads. The
only two types of ads I DO recommend are Top
Sponsor Ads & Solo Ads. A Top Sponsor Ad is a 4 or 5 line sponsored ad located at the top of the ezine. Everyone sees this ad since it shows in the first 'page view' of the ezine. A Solo Ad is just what it sounds like. This type of ad is actually a solo mailing sent to the list of subscribers of the ezine. In other words, they go out on their own. When you buy a solo ad, your ad with your subject line is the only thing the reader sees. A Solo ad can also usually be much longer than a regular ad. You’re basically renting a list and email marketing to them. The quality of the list is also important. I’ve run $20 ads in ezines that pulled like crazy and others that I spent $150 on that bombed. That's why testing different ads is critical to ezine advertising success. The great thing about ezine solo ad techniques is that a simple ad placed in a responsive, targeted ezine can deliver a ton of qualified leads. The trick is consistency and patience. We've taken care of the most important part for you... and that's a solid, targeted, high-converting front-end marketing system.
